Why Nyara
I didn't want to build a collection of identical villas. There's enough of that in the world. I wanted to share properties that were unique.
A villa in Bali should feel like you're in Bali. A townhouse in Phuket should reflect the rhythm of southern Thailand. A penthouse in Tulum should make sense beneath the Mexican sun.
Our Story
A life lived elsewhere.
I've spent much of my adult life living somewhere other than where I was born. I grew up in Aotearoa, New Zealand, but home has moved many times since then. I've lived in Australia and India, while France and Spain each became home for more than a decade. Along the way, I've travelled extensively, raised four sons across cultures, and worked in property and education. Eventually, life brought me back to Southeast Asia, where I settled in Thailand.
Through all those chapters, three things have remained constant: travel, motherhood and property. They are more than parts of my story. They are the things I'm most passionate about.
I love discovering new places, creating homes with a sense of belonging, and experiencing the world through the wonderfully different perspective that comes with raising four boys in it.
Travelling with my four sons taught me something else: luxury isn't always about having more. Sometimes it's privacy, more of your own space, a kitchen that works, your own pool, and the freedom to live at your own pace.
That philosophy became Nyara Stays.
Our properties in Bali, Phuket and Tulum aren't intended to be identical. Each belongs to its destination, but they share the same idea: beautiful, relaxed homes designed for longer stays and always within a close proximity to the sea.
There is one rule behind every Nyara property: we have to want to stay there ourselves.
Not just for a weekend. Actually live there.
Because the best holiday homes don't constantly remind you that you're a guest. For a little while, they let you imagine that you belong.
